We hope this holiday season finds you well and happy - here's a little something that Gary wrote Saturday morning to share with all of you.
Merry Christmas to all the little trees that had to die If you know Gary then you know that if you ask him his opinion on any topic he will be happy to discuss his thoughts honestly and enthusiastically - no matter the topic or how controversial. He loves exchanging ideas and debating topics. Which is why it will come as no surprise to those who know him and his music to find that some of his new tunes address some of today's dire political and environmental landscape. Check out the lyrics to some of these songs on his new CD "Revolution Rhapsody aka: Uprising Music" now, share them with your friends and get a conversation started. and then let us know your thoughts, thanks. ________________________ The CD pre-release party is on November 19th (10pm till 1am) at Joe Squared, 133 W. North Ave, Baltimore, MD. Hope to see you there! In the meantime, to wet your appetite, call your local radio station and request one of the new tunes :-) Here's a list of the tracks, so you can ask for which one you want to hear: Dropped everything off at the CD duplication place yesterday - got proofs today - everything is finally coming together! Hopefully you are as excited to hear this new disc as I am to have it done and ready for you to listen to it... Here is the poster for the party... Hope you can make it out to the show, this is your chance to get the disc before the official release...
With Steve Wright as our ever-gracious host and geniously-talented engineer,
Gary worked on his up-coming CD at Wrightway Studios in Baltimore, MD. Sarah
Wiskeman added her talented voice on a track or two, and Dayne Shannon loaned us
his beautiful Breedlove accoustic guitar for the day... As an added bonus our
long-time friend Joanne Walker came and offered her acupressure/massage skills
to help everyone perform at their best. Thanks to everyone - we had a blast (as
always)... What is it they say "April showers...", well we had plenty of rain this past weekend. Thanks to everyone who braved the showers to hang out with us at the Steer Inn in Berlin, MD, on Friday, April 8, and the Wing Hub in Bethesda, MD, on Saturday, April 9, 2011. Also, we had the pleasure of performing with long time friend Clarence "The Bluesman" Turner sitting in on bass on Saturday. He fronts his own band on guitar, so getting to play with him was a rare treat - listen to the audio (podcast) footage and let me know what you think...
And to all the little kids that are wondering why
Why they don't have no gift
Why Daddy lost his shift
Why Momma always seem so down like she don't have no lift
Merry Christmas to all the people in the Middle East
Fightin' killin' dyin' tryin' to find some peace
Merry Christmas to the starving kids in Africa
They doin' bad, but they'd still share what they had witcha
Merry Christmas to the protesters that protest greed
Gettin' beat down in the streets for saying what they need
Merry Christmas to the people that are speakin' it trueRevolution Rhapsody - our new CD tackles current political topics!
